Daniel Belliveau MD, FRCSC

Dr. Belliveau obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Université de Montréal in 1991. He then completed an Ophthalmology specialty at the Université de Sherbrooke in 1996. This is where Dr. Belliveau received his first training in refractive surgery. Dr. Belliveau has been extensively trained in both the LASIK and PRK Excimer laser techniques and has performed several thousand refractive laser procedures since 1997. Dr. Belliveau is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Belliveau is in a comprehensive ophthalmology practice in Halifax specializing in  intraocular lens implants. He is also a lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology at Dalhousie University having an active role teaching eye surgery in the residency training program
 

 

Alexander Tan MD, FRCSC

Dr. Alex Tan is a native of Dartmouth, NS.  He graduated from Dalhousie University medical school with distinction in 2001 and was also the recipient of the Dr. Harold Ross McKean award for demonstrating the highest skills in ophthalmology.  He then completed his residency in ophthalmology also at Dalhousie University in 2006.  During the course of his training, he has been the recipient of numerous academic scholarships and awards.

Since completing his ophthalmology training, Dr. Tan has been in practice with Dr. Belliveau at the Halifax Vision Centre practicing comprehensive ophthalmology with a keen interest in cataract surgery and intraocular lens implants.  He is a lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at Dalhousie University and actively teaches residents eye surgery in the residency teaching program.
