Kim MacLellan, Centre Director

Kim is the Centre Director at Halifax Vision Centre.  She is from Antigonish where she began working in ophthalmology in 1989 as a Medical secretary.  She completed the Ophthalmic Assistant course from the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 1992.    Kim has been with Halifax Vision Center since it opened in 2004.  She may be found performing testing on patients, behind the main desk or in her office.  Her experience and professional manner allows her to deal with any questions or concerns regarding many of the procedures in the office.

Joanne Barrette, Visual Field Technician

Joanne is from Halifax. She is the Visual Field Technician at Halifax Vision Centre. Joanne received her Medical Office Assistant diploma from NSCC in 1994 and has been working in the ophthalmology field since 2001. Joanne joined Halifax Vision Centre in 2006. She makes appointments and gives reminder calls to patients. Her calming, gentle manner will make you feel relaxed and comfortable as you are performing your visual test.

Danika Parks, Ophthalmic Technician & Medical Secretary

Danika comes to us from the Annapolis Valley. She graduated from the Medical Office Assistant course at CDI Business College in 2006. She began work as a Medical Secretary at Halifax Vision Centre in 2007. Danika is currently working as both a medical secretary and ophthalmic technician. Her smile is one of the first things you may see when you walk into our office. Her pleasant and approachable manner will make you feel comfortable and she is always ready and willing to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your appointment at Halifax Vision Centre.

Leah MacLellan, Medical Secretary

Leah is from Antigonish, where she graduated from High School then moved to Calgary where she worked as a nanny and did some travelling for a year. She then went on to work as a receptionist in a corporate office before returning to the Maritimes. We are very fortunate to have her join us at Halifax Vision Centre as our Medical secretary. Leah is ready to assist you with your appointments and always provides service with a smile.
